1:1 Year 5 Teaching Assistant, M14

• Weekly rate of pay (£250-350)

A full time Teaching Assistant opportunity has become available in a two form entry primary school in Central Manchester, (M14). The school are looking to recruit an enthusiastic teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with significant barriers to learning and who display challenging behaviour. The suitable candidate will be supporting a Year 5 LAC boy.

The Role;

The Year 5 boy has struggled with staying in the classroom and has violent outbursts with other children and staff. The ideal candidate will be able to set clear boundaries, build a positive relationship and maintain a professional relationship.

Due to the pupil being transitioned into full time education the incoming teaching assistant will help this child stay in the classroom and support with his academic studies. The child has an attachment disorder and has violent outbursts so the ideal teaching assistant will have experience of supporting children with challenging behaviours or experience in a residential care setting. A Team-Teach qualification is highly desirable.

The pupils come from a white British background and a low number of pupils with EAL. To be considered for this Year 5 1:1 teaching assistant role, you will need to have a teaching assistant qualification/degree and significant experience working with children who display challenging behaviours or a psychology degree.
