Team Teach Qualified Teaching Assistant - Cardiff

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking Team Teach trained Teaching Assistant for various positions in Cardiff. The majority of our positions are working 1:1 with pupils who display challenging behaviour. Any related qualifications/training such as Makaton, PECS, Safeguarding and Speech and Language training would be desirable but not essential.

The schools have strong SENCO leaders in place and will work with you closely to share best practice. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a primary school where you will be given additional support and continuous professional development (CPD) to help grow your career. Ideally you will be willing to commit to a full-time position, however other part-time positions are available.

You will be committed to improving the social and emotional well-being of each pupil and have the flexibility to work in different Key Stages, building rapport with the pupils and staff alike. The successful candidate will be resilient, confident and assertive, yet calm, patient and understanding. Due to the nature of the work, we would ask for candidates to have strong behaviour management skills and be able to manage groups of pupils effectively.

The successful candidate must;

- Be Team Teach Qualified

- Have a recognised Teaching Assistant Qualification at Level 3 or above

- Have experience of working in a UK school for at least 6 months

- Have strong classroom management skills

- Be able to deal with challenging behaviour and a creative approach is necessary

- Be able to use your own initiative and work as part of a team
