Teaching Personnel have been working in partnership with a Specialist School in Slough for over 7 years. They have asked for us to help in there search for teaching assistants who are keen to kick start their career as a Special Needs teaching assistant. The school have numerous roles available:

Primary – Autism 

Secondary – Autism

Post 16 Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)

Each class will have a small number of pupils (8-11) and all children will have an individual EHCP in place. The classes consists of highly experienced teaching assistants on hand to support with behaviour management, speech language development and emotional needs. Teaching Assistants will report pupil’s progress to the Teacher who will liaise with professionals to further aid development.

Responsibilities

Adapting the techniques used to support pupils depending on their individual needs

Supporting pupils 121 or in small groups

Liaising with professionals including the SALT (speech and language therapist), Educational Psychologists, Teachers and Social Workers

Helping prepare resources for the teacher 

Safeguarding children from harm 

Offering academic, emotional and social support

Attending weekly and annual meetings with other staff and professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
