Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a fluent welsh Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis in a Year 4 class until the end of the academic year in a school in Caerphilly. 

 

Position: Teaching Assistant

Pay: GBP57 a day (basic pay plus 12.07% holiday pay) including National Insurance & pension contribution

Interview/Observation: Observations trials will be held once all vetting documents are complete

Start date: Once all checks are complete, the start date will commence on the first Thursday. 

 

The role 

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a fluent welsh Teaching Assistant to work every Thursday and Friday in a Year 4 class until the end of the academic year. The class is a challenging class in terms of behaviour therefore we are looking for a strong candidate who doesn't get phased by disruptions and can repsond effectively to each individual pupil. 

During the role, the succesful candidate will assist in reinforcing the teacher’s expectations and behaviour management system and create a positive learning experience for the pupils by turning the negatives into positives. 

 

The school

The Primary School has recently been reviewed and categorised as a green school- therefore doing well and in need of the least support. The primary School itself is a challenging school based in a deprived area. The school provides bilingual education for pupils aged between 3 and 11 years, however. Welsh is the main medium of learning with only about 4% of pupils come from Welsh-speaking homes. The Primary school is a one form entry and has one Resource Base maintained at the school by the local authority for pupils who have profound learning needs. They come from a wide area, namely the catchment area that feeds Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni.
