What - Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant
One of our client schools in Monmouthshire have asked us to find full time support for a pupil in January for the rest of the academic year. This teaching assistant position requires you to use your sport knowledge to develop sessions for the pupil and potentially other pupils.
The role would be supporting students with special needs or challenging behaviour who require extra assistance and support within the classroom. Keeping the students on track with their work and engaged in their learning is pivotal for this role. The school use a reward scheme where the pupils can win an hour off lessons to engage in sports. You will be in charge of running these sessions.
Where - Secondary school in Monmouthshire
The position is to work in a large secondary school in Monmouthshire, close to the M4 with good public transport links. It is a school that thrives within the community and continues to grow each year.
When - Starting in January 2020 for he academic year
The school are looking for someone to start in January as they have had additional funding to support a pupil. Interviews will be held before Christmas and a part of the interview process would be spending time with the pupil in the school to ensure you are the right fro the role.
Having experience working in schools is desirable but not essential as any experience working with children, in coaching, care work or personal experience with SEN will be considered. The successful teaching assistant would need to be kind, calming and a reliable person.
The pay is GBP285 to GBP300 per week and there is potential for a permanent position at the school.
