Are you an academically gifted and enthusiastic psychology graduate looking to gain experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a Primary School?

Do you have practical and theoretical knowledge of special educational needs?

Would you enjoy working as a Teaching Assistant with pupils with a range of difficulties and barriers to learning?

Are you a 1st class or 2:1 degree holder, ideally in Psychology?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a graduate - ideally in psychology or special educational needs - with a 2:1 or 1st class degree to join a primary school, from March, as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant.

This position is to work with the school's pupils in KS1 who have special educational needs, language barriers or are falling behind their peers. Pupils in this primary school have a range of needs including ADHD, Autism, Asperger's, Dyslexia and speech and language difficulties. You job will be to work closely with these pupils to ensure they are managing their studies whilst providing emotional and academic support.

You will be working closely with the school's teachers and leadership to ensure that pupils are receiving the most appropriate interventions and support for their needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, there will be a demand for whole class support but more often than not you will be working with small groups and pupils on a one-to-one basis.

The school is a relatively small primary academy with just one form in every year group. The school has a reputation for offering an inclusive approach to education where the well being and progress of every child is paramount.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
