SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant

We’re looking for a dedicated SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people!
The Role:
In this role, you’ll work closely with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
This is a community special school that supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 years with a wide range of complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The main areas of need include:
- Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
- Complex learning difficulties
- Communication and interaction need
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
- Additional needs that may include sensory processing difficulties and medical conditions requiring tailored support
The school operates as a trauma-informed environment and provides highly individualised education programs, therapies, and interventions to meet each pupil’s needs. It also uses a total communication approach, meaning staff employ multiple communication methods to support pupils effectively.

Working Hours/Benefits:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
