A specialist provision situated in Rochdale are currently looking to appoint multiple Teaching Assistants (with a background in dealing with challenging behaviours) who are passionate about pursing a career in education. Due to the nature of the needs of the pupils who attend these settings individuals who have a background working in prisons or individuals who have served in the army or navy tend to excel in these Settings.
These positions are commencing in September 2019 and will involve working until the end of the academic year and could potentially lead to permanent roles dependent on performance. These roles will involve working from 8.30 - 3.30pm 5 days per week (Monday - Friday) .
In order to apply for the role you should have:
- High levels of emotional and physical resilience
- The ability to build positive relationships with Teachers and pupils
- A passion for supporting pupils with SEMH, interaction difficulties and with SEN
- A non-judgemental approach
- Training in physical restraint
