Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Are you a graduate exploring your options into teaching? Do you want to gain classroom experience beforehand to boost your teaching profile or to help you decide if this is the career for you?

Teaching Personnel offer fantastic support to graduates looking at getting into teaching by providing you with the opportunity to gain experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor! We work in exclusive partnership with secondary schools across Manchester who are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated graduates for a number of support roles e.g. Teaching Assistant (behaviour mentor, learning mentor), tutor, cover supervisor.

  • Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor - Graduate Scheme
  • Full or part time opportunities available - flexible, temporary roles
  • Opportunities to be placed in 1 or more schools local to you in Manchester for up to 1 academic year!
  • Starting in September
  • PAID £1140 month - paid weekly!
  • Supporting secondary aged pupils (aged 11-16) in small groups and on 1:1 who are identified as falling behind or require additional support with their studies
  • Providing general classroom assistance to teachers (activity/lesson planning)
  • Covering lessons in the absence of class teachers - great way to gain classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Great way to gain experience prior to completing a PGCE / teacher training programme
  • Access to CPD opportunities through Teaching Personnel to boost your teaching profile for the future (e.g. Safeguarding, Team Teach)
  • Previous experience in a similar role / working with young people is very desirable!
