Teaching Assistant, Rochdale

We are recruiting on behalf of our client school in Rochdale for a Teaching Assistant to join the school to help support a number of students on a 1:1 and group basis. This is a full time position with interviews starting at the soonest convenience.

  • Full time and part time hours, working on a flexible basis dependent on your availability and the needs of the school.

  • Get paid a weekly basis up to £1300 a month, dependent on your experience, qualifications and responsibilities within the school.

  • Working in a large school in Rochdale with a strong support structure throughout, both for the staff and pupils learning within the school.

  • Access to further development through support within the school as well as specialist CPD training with Teaching Personnel at our partner schools

Working within a large community school in Rochdale your position will be a varied role dependent on the needs of the school as well as your qualifications and experience. You may be required to work on a 1:1 basis or work within a group setting, assisting pupils with any SEN, behavioural or learning support they may require. Due to the nature of the role previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is preferred, however we would consider applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience, such as those who have supported young people with behaviour problems or special needs or worked within a secondary school environment in the past.

  • Although you day will be varied and you may be utilized in different departments, dependent on the needs of the school, typical daily responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, dependent on the needs of the school and helping them reach the curriculum

  • Conducting reports on progress and delivering back to the SEN Co-ordinator and pupils parents, discussing and implementing next steps and ways to develop

  • Supporting pupils with any additional needs they have and helping boost self esteem and confidence
  • All applicants must have previous experience supporting young people with a wide variety of SEN

  • Working alongside the SEN department, supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, such as; Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or any other SEMH or behaviour difficulties.
