GOOD Darwen Primary School
Work alongside small groups of lower attaining groups of children
A proven track record of working with children across the KS1 Curriculum
Are you a driven, enthusiastic individual looking for a new challenge? If so, then this may be the perfect role for you! I am currently working alongside the Head teacher of a one form-entry Primary School in Darwen (BB3). The Head teacher is looking to employ a Teaching Assistant who has experience working alongside lower ability children delivering Read Write Inc. Phonics intervention sessions with children in Reception and Y1.
The school is located close to the centre of Darwen and is an easy commute from the surrounding areas. The majority of children attending school arrive from socially deprived backgrounds and so generally they receive additional funding to support their varying needs. The school have recently been graded GOOD by Ofsted and are pushing to receive OUTSTANDING at the next inspection; in order to do this they are focusing attention on Reading and Writing improvements particularly in Early Years and LKS1.
The role will be to start as soon as possible on a temporary basis until Easter to see how the children engage with the support. This will be a five day a week position covering up to 32.5 hours. The rate of pay is competitive with other roles of this sort starting from £8.41 per hour. I currently work with a number of schools across the Blackburn with Darwen areas and would be delighted to hear from you if this role is of interest or if you are looking for an alternative role within a Primary School.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in the above role, or equally so, if you have any friends or family members who would be suitable. I can be contacted in the office on 01772 842154 or by email
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
