Teaching Assistant Level 3 / Family Support role - Preston

Our client school in Preston are seeking THREE Level 3 Teaching Assistants for a September start!

You will be part of a strong ambitious team who have driven the development of the school from requires improvement to good and are now heading towards outstanding. There is a strong emphasis on providing for individual pupil needs to ensure each pupil can maximize their own potential. The school is a specialist provision for pupils with Education, Health and Care plans, who specialise in Social, Emotional and Mental health needs. Experience of working with pupils with ASC, ADHD, Moderate learning needs, specific learning needs and other forms of neuro diversity would be advantageous. One of the roles will involve family support work to maximize pupil attendance. You will need to support pupil needs within school both individually and within class, building strong positive relationships to secure the best possible outcomes for pupils. Alongside this you will support the needs of the family to improve the outcomes for the pupil. Experience of liaising with other agencies, supporting the CAF and TAF process is essential for the role. You will also work with the school administration team to monitor attendance, and under the direction of a senior leader on attendance work within the school. Two of the roles will require strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing nature for in class support, also working as part of the pastoral team once positive relationships have been established with pupils. You will also be required to plan and implement individual packages of support for pupils. Team Teach qualifications would be an advantage, willingness to train is essential. For both roles knowledge of literacy, numeracy and social interventions would be an advantage. All Teaching Assistant's at act as a key worker for pupils, and are required to build up supportive relationships with families and keep records related to pupils. All applicants must be committed to undertake in service development and be committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people This position is term time only.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 or above qualification (or equivalent) - in exceptional circumstances, where local circumstances dictate, qualifications may be viewed as desirable

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working with children
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience of Administrative work
