Teaching Assistant

The school is based in Bournemouth and caters for pupils with ASC and Aspergers.

Pupils are between the ages of 3 and 19. Children at the school have difficulties with communication and sensory processing and therefore we work closely with speech and language therapists and occupational therapists to both minimise barriers to learning and extend their skills.

The role:

-You will be working with children with complex needs who may require personal care at times so willingness to do this is necessary

-Working with children with speech and language difficulties, candidates with experience with PECS/Makaton are highly desirable for this role but this is not a necessity

-Working as a teaching assistant alongside a teacher and support staff to provide care to children with special education needs

The candidate:

-Must have right to work in the UK

-All candidates must have a current child only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

-Must have experience working with individuals with special education needs. Personal experience/non- school based experience will be considered
