We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a school in the Hayle area. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference to children's development, helping and supporting them with their catch-up work and encouraging them as they strive to achieve their goals.

Good communication skills are vital in this role as you will be working alongside the class Teacher to support the students with their day to day learning activities. You will be expected to be flexible and work with students in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis. You will be provided with work by the class teacher though you may be expected to organise additional work sheets if you are working with students that you are familiar with and have an understanding of their abilities. Teaching Assistant experience is desired and experience with helping students with catch up work would be a benefit as your role will involve this.

It is essential that you have a good standard of English (written and spoken) and Maths to be successful in this role. We are also looking for somebody who can be creative and make learning interesting and enjoyable for the students to help them engage to enhance their learning.

The ideal candidate will be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies. You will also need a Child Workforce DBS which can be completed during the recruitment process.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years teaching assistant experience and experience with helping students with catch up work would be a benefit. Your hours will be 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday during term time. The school are looking for somebody who can start as soon as possible.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
