Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a provision in Maidenhead that offers support to pupils with Autism and associated needs. Some pupils will have difficulty with managing emotions, social skill and communication skills.

The role is full time Monday – Friday 8.30am -16.30pmwith full training programme included.

Job Description

• 1:1 teaching sessions using reward based learning and positive reinforcement(the school will offer full training from day 1)
• Key worker for 2-3 pupils, delivering intervention programmes specifically designed for each pupil needs
• Reporting pupil progress to supervisors and therapist to help adapt intervention programmes
• Collect data on pupil progress and input the information on graphs to track development
• Engage pupils in activities inside and outside the classroom
• Responsible for safeguarding the health and safety of pupils
• Supporting the class teacher during class based activities and learning

Ideal Candidate:

• Degree - Psychology, Health and Social Care, Social Studies, Education and Childcare or qualified to A-Level standard or equivalent
• Keen to take on training and qualify as a registered behavioural technician
• Comfortable managing behaviour (full training is provided – Professional Crisis Management)
• Positive attitude and an energetic personality
• Experience working with children or adults with Special Education Needs (professional or personal) – Autism, ADHD, Behaviour and Speech Language Communication Needs
