Teaching Assistant

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are seeking a specialist Teaching Assistant who is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

The school caters for KS1 / 2 pupils and at this time, we are unsure which specific year group you will be in, but you will be working with Primary aged students. You will also ideally have experience in Autism, ADHD, SEMH Difficulties and / or Global Developmental Delay.

The role will be temporary, through the agency, for a period of 18 weeks, after which a permanent contract will be offered by the school, providing you are fulfilling their expectations.

Could you help young people by giving them a fresh start and an opportunity to see life differently, changing their perspective on learning and education?

This role will suit someone emotionally resilient, non-judgemental, understanding and patient. The young people carry their own emotional difficulties, struggle with social interaction and have difficulty in expressing their emotions positively at times, thus resulting in challenging behaviours and language. Therefore you must have experience in or be extremely confident in managing challenging behaviour.

Your role will be to inspire the young people to believe in themselves and assist them in overcoming barriers to learning whilst offering opportunities they would never have thought they could be exposed to. Most importantly, you'll be that one person who never gave up, always believed and challenged them to do the same.

You will provide support in the classroom across all curriculum areas alongside the teacher and other support assistants.

You must have experience working with children who can display challenging behaviours and / or be confident in your classroom management skills.

The working hours will likely be 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday and the school would like to meet suitable candidates ASAP!

Pay for this role is GBP65 - 75 per day.

I have agreed to send suitable CV's ASAP therefore, if interested, please ensure you send your CV to me immediately!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
