Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel work with a number of SEN schools all over Greater Manchester, and are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants in the Manchester area to support secondary age pupils with learning disabilities.

Working with SEN faces a range of challenges, such as behaviour issues, problems with interacting or social skills, mobility issues and trouble staying focused. However, it also comes with many rewards, including seeing your direct impact on the students you work with and training opportunities through Teaching Personnel.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be a caring and empathetic individual, who genuinely wants to create a secure and supportive environment for the children to progress within. The curriculum is designed to be inclusive and engaging, helping the students to reach their full potential in relation to their learning level.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the students in the classroom with their work, helping them to remain focused and to understand their classwork. You will also be in charge of managing their behaviour and social skills, ensuring they engage and interact with all other students in an appropriate manner. You also may be in charge of moving and handling and personal care if the student requires this assistance.

Students at SEN schools will have a range of needs, such as Autism Spectrum Condition, Severe learning disabilities and profound and moderate disabilities.
