Mathematics Teaching Assistant

We are pleased to offer the role of a Teaching Assistant to a Mathematics graduate at one of our client schools in the Stockport area.

Key information:

• The pay for this role is between £385 - £450 per week.
• Experience working or volunteering with young people is welcomed but not necessary.
• Great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a classroom setting.

Our client is looking for someone passionate about working with young people and showing them the value of modern Mathematics in day-to-day life. The successful applicant will work with the SEN team to help provide students with additional needs the support they require to have a rich learning experience. These requirements could be things like Dyslexia, ADD or Autism to name a few examples.

Some key skills and attributes we are looking for in a candidate:

• The ability to provide valuable, in-depth feedback to pupils ensuring the pupil has a clear understanding of their positives and where they need to work on.
• To develop students’ ability within the subject, providing pastoral support and guidance.
• Able to liaise with teachers and leadership staff to help identify students who would benefit from additional support.
• Provide small group and 1:1 interventions outside of the classroom, particularly within your subject specialism.
• Ability to differentiate your teaching to enable students of all learning processes to take all they can from your sessions.

For those who drive, the area has links to the M60 with the sites having secure onsite parking. There are train stations nearby to the schools with services running direct to and from Manchester Piccadilly. There are bus stops all around the schools with many services running into and around the town centre.

The successful applicant must provide a full DBS check and 2 references from former employers, character references are accepted if you have not had 2 employers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
