Teaching Assistant

A Primary School are looking for a Teaching Assistant for its new starters. The school pupils all have an EHCP plan associated with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The school allows the Teacher Assistant to offer creative and explorative elements to their lessons and teaching practices. Pupils' achievement and student behaviour are both good and improving. The school’s aim is to be a place of excellence and help their learners to achieve their best - socially, personally and academically.

The role of a Teaching Assistant will vary from day to day and the school are looking for someone who can make a real difference in the children’s lives; someone who is robust while also of a caring nature The role of a Teaching Assistant would be to support the children in their development. Depending on the needs of the children /class you would support, this may be communication activities, play centred tasks or holistic therapies. Your role would be supported by a Teacher and one or more other Teaching Assistants.

The school is located in the Stretford area of Trafford so has fantastic links to public transport by bus, tram and train while not being far from Manchester City Centre.

Requirements for successful Learning Support Assistant:

• Experience with SEMH or Challenging Behaviour
• Relevant Primary School experience
• High expectations for all students and the determination to help all children succeed
• The ability to work effectively in a team of teachers, support staff and outside agencies
