Are you a graduate wishing to pursue a career in teaching? Do you wish to gain experience on a flexible basis prior to embarking upon a PGCE/teacher training course?

If so, please see the details of the Teaching Assistant position available with our client Secondary school in the Swinton region of Salford.

  • Full time and part time opportunities available
  • Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting in class
  • Opportunity to cover lessons in subject specialism
  • Earn up to £300 per week whilst gaining invaluable experience
  • Located in Swinton, accessible via the M60 & M61

This position will incorporate supporting pupil during classes whilst having the opportunity to cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher with pre-set work. This will give you the skills necessary to excel in a future PGCE or teacher training programme.

Located in the Swinton area of Salford, our partner Secondary school currently has over 1,000 pupils on roll which is larger than the national average. The school has recently been refurbished through the Salford Schools Development Programme, and now has state of the art facilities accessible to students and staff alike.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work within classes, but also be working within the Learning Resource Centre with identified pupils that find it difficult to integrate into mainstream lessons. The SENCO and Senior Leaders will work directly with you to support your development, and due to the flexibility of the post - there are opportunities to take full time and part time positions.

Public transportation links from central Manchester and Bolton provide a direct route to the school for non drivers, whereas for drivers, the school can be reached via the M60 or A580 (East Lancashire Road).

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
