Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within one of our client secondary schools located near the centre of Wigan.

The school are in need of someone who is able to support the learning of an individual pupil and help them to engage in their studies. The pupil that the income Teaching Assistant will be supporting has been described as someone who struggles to engage with his learning.

  • Teaching Assistant - Full-time position supporting the needs of an individual learner
  • Required to start this term or at the earliest convenience
  • Competitive pay rates with expected earning of around £350 per week
  • Supportive secondary school with a warm and friendly support team
  • Employment for the remainder of the academic year

With the nature of this role the school are looking to appoint someone who is able to engage well with students, someone who is able to encourage good classroom behaviours on a regular basis and someone who is passionate about helping others.

It has been highlighted that previous or relative experience would be extremely beneficial for this role however is not completely essential.

Whilst this position is just for the remainder of the academic year in the first instance, the school will look to offer the incoming member a permanent position if successful over this initial period.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the needs of the individual learners you have been tasked with working
  • Working with the identified student within class ensuring that they are focused and getting the most out of the lessons they attend
  • Liaising with senior members of the schools support team to review the progress of the identified learner

This is an Ofsted graded 'Outstanding' school that hold an extremely good reputation within the school. The school hold extremely high expectations of their pupils and what they can achieve in class. Located in the West of Wigan the school is easily accessible from surrounding areas; Bolton, Leigh and Salford and also has direct links to the Wigan town centre via public transport.
