Teaching Assistant

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step up in their teaching career and gain valuable experience to build on your skills in your path to become a teacher. Ideally you will already have experience within the education sector perhaps as a Teaching Assistant, mentor or tutor. Alternately you may be a qualified teacher seeking a position not requiring planning, marking or assessment or may have experience working closely with young adults in an alternative provision.

Ideally you will hold an undergraduate degree – or education based qualifications such as Preparing to Teaching in the Life Long Sector (PTLLS) or a CACHE Level 2 or 3.We welcome applications from those who have proven communication and organisational skills. You must be confident and flexible to the changing needs of your work colleagues and pupils who you are in charge of. You must be able to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changing environments, classrooms, subjects and pupils.

Duties include:

• Independently supervising classes
• Present the work set by the absent teacher
• Ensuring pupils remain on task
• Support teachers in the supervision of Students
• General administration duties
•
