We are looking for dedicated educators who can deliver personalised tuition, engage pupils and help them achieve their academic goals. The role involves working with learners who need extra help with schoolwork, support following disrupted education, GCSE revision or an alternative approach to mainstream classroom learning.

Tuition may be delivered in pupils' homes, schools or specialist alternative education settings.

Your duties as a 1:1 Education Tutor will include:

  • Providing tailored teaching sessions based on individual learning targets and abilities.
  • Helping pupils improve their subject knowledge, academic results and confidence.
  • Designing suitable lesson plans and preparing engaging educational resources.
  • Adapting teaching methods to overcome learning difficulties and individual barriers.
  • Assessing progress and maintaining accurate records of tuition sessions.
  • Encouraging independent learning, motivation and positive educational habits.
  • Supporting children with SEND, emotional difficulties and behavioural needs.
  • Working closely with parents, schools and other professionals involved in the pupil's education.
  • Following safeguarding procedures and ensuring the welfare of all learners.

Subjects and Specialisms

We welcome tutors with experience in:

  • Secondary English, Mathematics and Science.
  • GCSE tuition and examination preparation.
  • Functional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy.
  • History, Geography and Humanities.
  • Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Home Education and Alternative Provision.

Skills and Experience Required

To be considered, candidates should have:

  • A minimum of two years' teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
  • Experience working with primary or secondary school-aged children.
  • The ability to plan and deliver structured, engaging learning sessions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • A flexible, patient and supportive approach to different learning needs.
  • Access to transport or the ability to travel to assignments across Coventry and surrounding areas.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

Experience with SEND Learners

We are particularly interested in tutors who have supported pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Speech, language and communication difficulties.
  • Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).

What We Can Offer

  • Flexible placements to suit your availability.
  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • Opportunities to work in homes, schools and alternative education environments.
  • Potential for ongoing assignments and permanent positions.
  • Rewarding opportunities to make a lasting difference in children's education and development.
