1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Starting in the New Year - Southampton
Supporting a Non-Verbal Child in Year R, educator would need to drive.
Are you a nurturing, proactive Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 TA to join a welcoming primary school from the New Year, working closely with a non-verbal child in Reception who requires consistent, compassionate support throughout the school day.
This role is ideal for someone who:

Has experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with communication or developmental needs
-
Understands the Early Years/Year R curriculum and can adapt learning to meet individual targets
-
Can create a calm, encouraging environment that helps a child feel safe, confident and ready to learn
-
Works well as part of a supportive team and can follow guidance from teachers and external professionals
-
Brings patience, creativity, and a positive attitude to every day
What the role involves:

Providing tailored 1:1 support across classroom activities and structured interventions
-
Helping the child engage with learning through visual aids, modelling, and supportive communication approaches
-
Assisting with personal care and daily routines where required
-
Building a strong, trusting relationship that promotes emotional security and independence

Working closely with the class teacher to adapt tasks and track progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
