Full-Time Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 Support (Year 6)
Woolston area, Southampton
Start ASAP – Until End of Academic Year
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Woolston, Southampton to recruit a committed and resilient Learning Support Assistant for a full-time, 1:1 role.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the final year of primary education, supporting a Year 6 pupil who presents with challenging behaviour needs. The school is seeking someone who can provide consistent, calm and structured support to help the child thrive both academically and emotionally during this important transition year.
The Role:
-
Full-time position (Monday to Friday, term time only)
-
1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil
-
Implementing behaviour strategies and supporting emotional regulation
-
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
-
Encouraging engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours
-
Supporting preparation for SATs and transition to secondary school
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience supporting children with behavioural needs (school-based or relevant alternative experience)
-
Patient, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour
-
Able to build positive, trusting relationships
-
Consistent in applying boundaries and behaviour policies
-
Proactive and adaptable in a classroom setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
