Teaching Assistants (SEN Support)
Location: Portsmouth
Contract: Both Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be integral in creating a supportive learning environment for students with additional needs.
You'll work alongside classroom teachers to provide focused, individualized support, helping students manage their learning, emotional and social challenges while fostering their academic progress.
Whether in one-on-one settings or small groups, your role will be to help students develop the resilience and skills they need to succeed.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Offering tailored support to students, focusing on emotional regulation and life skills
- Collaborating with staff to create and implement individualized learning plans for students with varied ability levels
- Assisting in monitoring student progress and adapting support where necessary
- Upholding confidentiality while adhering to safeguarding policies
- Assisting in managing classroom dynamics and addressing the unique needs of each student
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of GCSEs or Level 2 Equivalent in Maths and English
- Previous experience working in an educational, SEN or mental health setting with children, adolescents, or adults
- Solid understanding of various needs such as Autism, ADHD, Communication needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues
- Calm and effective under pressure, able to handle challenging situations with care
- A commitment to continuous professional development and best practices in SEN support
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures and the ability to respond appropriately

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
