Job description

A Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester is looking for teaching assistants for full-time roles starting as soon as possible. The school works with children currently out of mainstream schooling for different behavioural reasons. They may also have different social, emotional and mental health needs. The students within this school are between the ages of 11 and 16, so will follow a secondary school curriculum.

Role and responsibilities

  • Encouraging good and respectful behaviour within classrooms and around the school
  • Helping students with any tasks or learning that they may struggle with in lessons
  • Working with teachers to prepare for lessons
  • Providing feedback whilst occasionally working one to one with students

For this role you should

  • Have previous experience dealing with challenging behaviour and know how to deescalate situations
  • Have previous experience working in a school or support role
  • Have a proactive personality
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (this can be applied for through Teaching Personnel if needed)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
