Level 2 Pastoral Teaching Assistant 
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Lancaster
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications

A Secondary School in Lancaster is seeking a compassionate and committed Level 2 Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time, term-time only role, providing vital support to students who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to students, helping to create a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups to support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Build trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with young people who present with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
