Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you skilled at managing challenging behaviours and de-escalating high-pressure situations? We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our pastoral team supporting pupils who display challenging behaviours.

Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Contract: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent behaviour support to pupils exhibiting challenging behaviours

  • De-escalate and defuse high-pressure and crisis situations calmly and effectively

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote emotional wellbeing

  • Work collaboratively within the pastoral team to create a supportive environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Experience working in challenging or SEMH settings is desirable

  • Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
