Teaching Assistant

A primary school in Harrogate (HG3) need a TA for their KS1 class for 3 days a week until the end of the academic year. If you have experience in primary schools and working with KS1 aged children, then this could be the role for you.

The school preferably want a qualified TA to start as soon as possible until July, working from Monday to Wednesday on a weekly basis. This is a general support role in the KS1 class, so the school would like someone who has experience providing support in these age groups. It is a very small school in HG3 that has a combined Year 1 and 2 class which is where this role is, so any experienced with combined year group classes would also be well received.

The class are on the whole very well behaved although there are a few children who can at times become disruptive. Essentially, the school need someone who can support the class teacher in their lesson, and ensure that the whole class are focussed and on task. The staff have mostly been at the school for a long time so are in a great position to support and encourage any new starters in the school. They need cover as the usual class TA is needed in another class to a cover a member of staff on maternity leave, so from Monday to Wednesday until at least the end of the year someone is needed to assist the teacher in that class. School begins at 8.30am and ends at 3.30pm. The Head wants to see CVs this week and arrange interviews and trials for as soon as possible.
