We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions to support student progress.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to ongoing assessments and reviews.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people facing challenges.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of our students and school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
