Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted graded ‘OUTSTANDING’ Secondary school in Clitheroe, Lancashire from Monday 3rd June 2024. The appointed candidate will receive fantastic training and development opportunities from the offset with scope to positively influence the students learning,

This role will suit both experienced Teaching Assistants who are exploring new roles, but it is also suitable for pro-active graduates who are looking to gain first-hand school-based experience with a view to commencing Teacher Training in the future.

In the role of Teaching Assistant, our successful candidate will implement structured learning activities/teaching programmes and support pupils in accessing learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher. You will also provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement in order for pupils to realise their full potential and manage classroom activities safely ensuring that the physical learning space and the resources within this space are conducive to pupil learning.

Main responsibilities include:

  • To contribute to facilitating student access to the education system, assessing and supporting achievement and monitoring progress towards EHCP/ILP objectives;
  • To provide practical and developmental assistance to the line manager in the academy in catering for the educational and personal welfare needs of students;
  • To work with individual and/or groups of students with learning difficulties, both in class and in the learning support base (inclusion), to enable students to access the curriculum;
  • To liaise with teachers and other academy staff in the preparation of plans and resources;
  • To oversee SEND students in a year group and complete modular reports on students’ progress;
  • As far as possible, to ensure a safe working environment for staff and students.

This is a temp-perm opportunity, based on 30 hours per week, term time only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
