Job description

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Start Date: September

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming school community from September. This is a full-time position, working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place.

About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey. You will provide tailored support to help the pupil access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and achieve their individual targets within a nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
  • Implement strategies and interventions outlined in the EHCP
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support learning and development
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment
  • Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working in education, care, or a similar setting
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of supporting children with special educational needs
  • Be patient, resilient, and compassionate
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to supporting the wellbeing and progress of every child

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
