About the role:

Start Date – January 2026

Pay - £89.38 per day

Hours – 8:30-3:30

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to recruit a hardworking and patient Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in the centre of Cardiff. The role will consist of supporting the teacher and children with general classroom assistance and being on hand to provide extra support to children on a 1:1 basis when required. The role is full time, with the possibility of the successful candidate being taken onto a permanent contract. You will be joining a passionate team in a school that aims to create a welcoming and positive environment for the pupils.

 While previous experience working with children is desirable, it is by no means essential to be a successful Teaching Assistant!

A successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Bring a confident nature to the classroom and good behaviour management skills.
• Be able to create good relationships with the pupils and staff to keep a positive learning environment.
• Be supportive and on hand to assist the teacher by following instructions or using initiative.
• Have experience personally or in a working environment with children.

Requirement Criteria:

• An Enhanced Child Only DBS (Teaching Personnel can help with this!)
• Register to the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• 2x professional references
• If you are a non-UK resident, you will need an  Overseas Criminal Clearance (OCC) to be considered for the position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
