I am currently looking for 2 Teaching Assistants for a Cardiff Secondary School.
The school have specified they need 2 people who feel confident working with a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds. The school have a high number of Looked after children (LAC) and also a large population of pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN).
Within this school they have provisions for Behaviour, Autism and additional learning needs such as Visual and Hearing impairments. After speaking with the schools senior leadership team we were asked to support with their recruitment for 2 Teaching Assistants for upcoming vacancies due to 2 pupils requiring additional support and a member of staff to help in the very near future.
The successful Teaching Assistants have to be able to communicate effective and have the ability to build relationships with pupils that often struggle in social situations. For this role you will need to have a personable and patient manner and be able to support in addition to the class teacher. The 2 individuals you will be supporting both have additional learning needs and will need someone that can communicate effectively and break down tasks set by the class Teachers/leaders.
The schools leadership team have specifically asked for someone who is adaptable as two days are never the same. Working with pupils who may not have had 1:1 support previously, you will be tasked with acting as a mentor and role model for the young people you work with and trust will need to be built quickly.

- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Communicating effectively to pupils and Teachers in order to develop schemes of work
- Build relationships and become a role model to your pupil on a one-to-one basis ensuring
If you have previous experience working with vulnerable young adults or children that need additional support then your skills could be a perfect cross over for this role.
The school have asked to see potential candidates in the next couple of weeks before the Christmas break as they have secured funding for the pupil’s support staff to start in January.
