Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker/SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Start date: Monday 3rd June 2024
Contract: Full-time, temp-perm

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker/SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging youth and possess a confident personality to effectively support our students in overcoming obstacles and achieving their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop rapport and establish positive relationships with students, earning their trust and respect.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
Requirements:
- Experience working with challenging youth in an educational or similar setting.
- A confident and resilient personality with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community.
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
- No formal qualifications required; however, relevant experience and a commitment to personal and professional development are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
