Job description
The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic and inclusive primary school in Ashton-under-Lyne, starting in September 2025. In this role, you’ll work alongside class teachers to support lesson delivery across a broad curriculum, with a particular emphasis on providing tailored support to individual pupils and small groups.
You will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping to ensure that every child is supported in reaching their full academic, social, and emotional potential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support class teachers in delivering creative, engaging lessons and maintaining student focus and progress
- Provide targeted support to individual students and small groups, both within the classroom and in breakout sessions
- Help create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Support students’ emotional wellbeing and development
- Assist with planning, resource preparation, and administrative tasks
- Deliver focused interventions for pupils with additional needs
- Maintain open and effective communication with staff, parents, and external professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
