Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming primary school in Abergavenny. This full-time position is to begin in September 2025 and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a child’s learning journey.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs (ALN), such as ASD, ADHD or speech and language delay.
• Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring the child remains focused and engaged.
• Implement differentiated learning strategies tailored to the pupil’s needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional regulation techniques.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children in an educational or care setting.
• Be calm, patient, and confident in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
• Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA certification) or equivalent experience.
• Be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.
• Be able to provide a child-only DBS check on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
