A specialist school in Higham's Park are currently seeking a teaching assistant who has experience supporting students with visual impairments. The school caters to 100 pupils all with a statement of special educational needs all of which have a tailored education health care plan to fit their daily needs and long term educational outcomes. Students are also provided with support with mobility and have regular 1:1 assistance with speech and language therapists. The ideal teaching assistant for this role would be an individual who is resilient , able to commit to the school and provide an engaging learning environment for the pupils; students at the school respond well with staff that are interactive and engaging. This a challenging yet rewarding role and for the successful individual there is the potential to secure a permanent contract.
Ideal attributes:
- Proactive individual who uses their own initiative to tackle challenging situations and behaviours
- Previous experience supporting students with autism and visual impairments
- Someone looking to pursue a career in education supporting students with special educational needs

- Excellent daily rate £65-£75 depending on the level of experience
- Onsite training provided - restrain training to assist with challenging behaviour, PECS and Makaton training for those with sensory impairments
