Teacher - Pupil Referral Unit

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for several teachers to take up posts across Pupil Referral Units in Kirklees, Huddersfield and Wakefield.

You will be teaching students with the aim of improving their academic, personal and social development. This role is demanding and challenging, but very rewarding. You will be teaching learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties in a specialist learning environment with small class sizes and high staff to student ratio. You'll be required to use a reflexive approach to learners, their learning and needs, and be able to work creatively and proactively. Emotional resilience and an ability to engage learners whom may have had a negative experience of education is a must, ideally you will have experience working in a similar environment.

Person Specification
*Experience working in a similar environment or other experience of working with young people whom may present challenging behaviours.
*Resilience and patience, compassion and understanding.
*An ability to be proactive, creative and empathetic.
*Have an approachable and supportive manner when liaising with team members
*To be able to follow detailed behaviour support plans (BSPs), individual learning plans (ILPs).
*To adhere to the school's policies and practices.
*Ideally you will be Team Teach trained (not essential)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
