Job description

Are you passionate about bringing science to life in the classroom? Do you want to start the 2025/26 academic year inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators? Teaching Personnel is working with a dynamic secondary school in Andover to recruit a dedicated Teacher of Science from September 2025.

About the Role
This full-time role involves teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will deliver engaging, practical, and challenging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring all students are supported to achieve their potential. Planning, marking, and participation in wider school activities will form part of your role.

  • Qualified Science Teachers (QTS/QTLS)

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) ready to start their first role in September

  • Unqualified Teachers with strong science knowledge and teaching potential

  • Science graduates eager to begin a career in education

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering creative and engaging science lessons

  • Using practical experiments to inspire curiosity and deepen understanding

  • Tracking student progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

  • Working collaboratively within the science department and across the school

Requirements:

  • A degree in Science or a related discipline (desirable but not essential for unqualified applicants)

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Passion for inspiring young people and making science accessible

  • An enhanced child workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
