  • Resistant Materials to Key Stage 4 and Design Technology to Key Stages 3
  • Full time position to cover a maternity leave
  • Required to start from April 2018
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (ÂŁ22,917- ÂŁ38,633)
  • "The head teacher provides dynamic leadership that is well focused on school improvement. He has a clear vision of how to continually improve the school"- (Ofsted, 2016)

Teaching Personnel are working exclusively with a secondary school in Warrington to recruit a Teacher of Resistant Materials from April 2018.

Due to an upcoming absence within the Design and Technology department, the Head teacher of this rapidly improving school is seeking a Teacher of Resistant Materials to join them on a long term basis starting in April 2018. This position is ideal for either a recently qualified teacher who is seeking to embed themselves within a highly supportive team or a more experienced teacher who wishes to work in a school where there are vast career development opportunities.

Design and Technology at the school is considered to be a very successful and cutting edge department. They have state of the art technology facilities and resources which allows their students to achieve the best possible design ideas. The subject encompasses a huge range of skills and encourages students to work independently from the start.

In Year 7 students are on a carousel system for Design and Technology whereby they spend half of the year in Resistant Materials and half of the year in Food Technology. At Key Stage 4, pupils complete a series of mini projects throughout the year leading to GCSE Controlled Assessment. You will be required to teach Key Stage 4 Design and Technology as NCFE vCert in Creative Studies: Craft with a specialism of CAD and CAM and wood crafts.

The school is smaller compared to most in the local area but is set to increase rapidly over the next couple of years. A recent Ofsted inspection highlighted the ambition of the Senior Leadership team and the good behaviour of the pupils. It is located in Warrington very close to the Wigan border which offers excellent access to the surrounding areas of Culcheth, Leigh and Golborne.

The Head teacher and other Senior Leaders are looking to meet with interested candidates at the earliest convenience. Therefore, please submit a full CV to Paul via the link below as soon as possible or alternatively contact the Manchester West Secondary Branch for further information.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
