Teacher of French - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Teacher of French on behalf of our client school in Wigan. Due to the ambition of the Senior Leadership team to improve the standard of teaching within the Modern Foreign Languages, an opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of French to join their team for the new academic year:

Overview-

  • Delivery of the French curriculum to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • To raise the attainment in French across all year groups
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)

This post is to start from September 2018 and is an exciting opportunity for a French teacher to join a high achieving school in a progressive role. To be eligible for this post, you must hold qualified teacher status and have and have an understanding of new curriculum developments for teaching Modern Foreign Languages.

The incoming French teacher will join a thriving and successful department. The department consists of dedicated teachers who are committed to providing a comprehensive learning of the subject to the pupils. There is a vibrant learning atmosphere throughout the lessons which leads to a high proportion of students choosing French at Key Stage 4.

Our partner school is a popular choice within the local area and is regularly over subscribed as a result. There are currently just over 950 pupils on roll with the vast majority of pupils from White British backgrounds. There are an average amount of pupils who have Special Educational Needs and those who are considered disadvantaged.

It is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway. There are also direct transport links from Wigan town centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
