About the Job:
This primary school are seeking an outstanding teacher for a Early Years class in the school’s autism provision. They are looking for an engaging, innovative, and highly motivated teacher capable of inspiring confidence in pupils with autism, parents and staff. The position is full-time starting in September 2020 and may initially include supporting other teachers in the SRP with PPA.
The successful candidate will be committed to helping pupils with autism reach their full potential and communicate with the world around them.
You will be a part of a great school team who work collaboratively to provide a safe caring, engaging setting where children are respected and valued for who they are. You will make a tangible difference while managing up to 3 SEN teaching assistants who will support you throughout the day. You will need to have a full appreciation of the importance of personal, communication, social and emotional development.
About the resource provision (Wandsworth):
This provision is based in a primary school situated in the London Borough of Wandsworth that has been ranked as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in their last inspection (2014). The school have a reputation for excellence with Ofsted stating that ‘Children in the resource base make an excellent start to school because they also receive outstanding teaching’.
The provision caters for children with autism spectrum condition and social communication needs. The environment within the provision is low arousal, to ensure a reduction in children’s anxieties and help them to learn by providing clear, visual structures.

This SRP are seeking a professional who is:
- Experienced or trained in planning and teaching pupils in Early Years or KS1 with autism (or EHCP)
- Knowledgeable and confident adapting the Early Years curriculum to meet individual learning needs
- Ambitious and committed to the very highest standards of learning.
- Dedicated to supporting the vision and ethos of the school
- Keen to challenge and build self-esteem in pupils with autism
- An excellent, innovative classroom practitioner with a drive for self-improvement and development.
