Support Worker (School based)

Are you a caring individual who enjoys supporting people with additional needs?

Have you got experience as a support worker, care worker or personal assistant?

Do you like working with children?

Teaching Personnel exclusively work with a number of Special Educational Needs schools in the Greater Manchester area, who recruit for support staff to assist students with special educational needs in the classroom.

These schools have an adapted and holistic approach to education, ensuring lots of sensory activities and interaction to create an engaging and beneficial curriculum.

As a support worker, your role will be to assist small groups of students or one student on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they are engaged, interacting and behaving appropriately. In addition to this you will be responsible for personal care, moving and handling, feeding and medication where necessary.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm, however can also be available on a flexible or part time basis.

Ideally you will have qualifications or training in relevant areas or experience, however we are open to applications from all types of experience, if relevant.

You will need to be patient, caring and enthusiastic to ensure you make the students experience at school comfortable and enjoyable.

Please be aware, all applicants MUST have an enhanced, child workforce only DBS which is registered to the update service, or be willing to apply for one.

Teaching Personnel are able to offer continuous development through regular training opportunities, offered at a reduced rate of 80% to all applicants.
We believe in paying the living wage which is processed through PAYE; what you're quoted is what you get.
As well as support from specialist consultants, you also have access to an online portal where you can view your payslips, diary and timesheets.
