Supply Teacher - PGCE Students Wanted!
Job description
Supply Teacher – County Durham
September start, £140 to £180 per day, ECTs and PGCE students welcome.
I'm recruiting Supply Teachers for secondary schools across County Durham and I want to hear from ECTs and PGCE students as well as experienced teachers. If you're newly qualified and want to build experience across different schools before committing to a permanent role, or if you're finishing your PGCE and want to start earning straight away, supply teaching could be perfect for you.
You'll deliver pre-prepared lessons across different schools, manage classrooms, and gain invaluable experience in various settings. For ECTs, this is a brilliant way to build confidence and see what different schools are like. For PGCE students who've finished placements, it's immediate paid work doing what you've trained for.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across various subjects at KS3 to KS5
- Managing classroom behaviour in different school settings
- Keeping students engaged and on task
- Following school procedures and providing feedback to staff
- Building your teaching experience across multiple schools
You'll need:
- QTS or be completing your PGCE (PGCE students finishing training are welcome)
- Teaching experience through placements or as an ECT
- Confidence managing classrooms
- Flexibility to work across different schools
- Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)
What you get:
- £130 to £170 per day depending on experience
- Flexible work to suit your availability (full-time, part-time, or ad hoc)
- Weekly pay via PAYE
- No planning or marking to take home
- Experience across different County Durham schools
- Support from me as your dedicated consultant who understands what ECTs need
- Free CPD and training opportunities
- Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability)
For ECTs, supply gives you breathing room to develop your practice without the intensity of a permanent role straight away. For PGCE students, it's immediate work and income while you decide on your next steps. Either way, I'll support you throughout and help you find schools that suit your experience level.
Contract: Flexible supply
Start: June/September
Pay: £140 to £170 per day
Location: County Durham secondary schools
Send me your CV or call me on 0191 223 5071. If you're an ECT or PGCE student, let's have a chat about how supply could work for you.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
