Flexible day to day and short term supply bookings for Cover teachers and Cover supervisors – Croydon – ASAP start -  Catholic Secondary Schools.

Rate: GBP150 - GBP250 per day.

Teaching Personnel are working very closely with a number of Catholic secondary schools in the Croydon area who have asked us to recruit a number of exceptional day to day supply cover supervisors and teachers to work on a day to day and short term cover basis for the Southwark Catholic Diocese supply bubble. This would be ideal for any supply teacher looking for flexibility where you can choose the days that you work and the location you work in, giving you an excellent work-life balance.

With Teaching Personnel, you will have the opportunity to work across KS3 and KS4 classes as well as experience different schools and meet new staff and children, providing you with exciting opportunities each day.

Our ideal candidates will:

  • Have QTS or relevant teaching qualifications.
  • A positive can-do attitude and be flexible and adaptable
  • Have experience working within a secondary school setting
  • Possess an up to date DBS (Or have a DBS on the update service)
  • Be a confident communicator at all levels and have excellent classroom management skills

As a cover teacher, you will need to have a confident and flexible approach towards teaching. The role will include supervising whole classes during the absence of the teacher, responding to questions, assisting pupils in undertaking set activities and maintaining order. In most classes being covered work has already been set.

Cover supervisors and teachers are valued and highly regarded, and this position would suit teachers and cover supervisors seeking flexible teaching work, with a good variety of schools available to teach at.

Essential qualities:

  • Effective communication skills: written and verbal. Able to communicate effectively with a range of people in a variety of contexts
  • Possess the resilience and stamina required to cope with the demands of the post
  • Shows initiative and a positive and flexible response to change. Able to accommodate the changing needs of the school and children
  • A desire and ability to improve own performance through reflection and appropriate professional development.
