Strong KS2 Teaching Assistant needed

A large primary school in Swansea is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve delivering learning activities for individuals/groups and monitoring pupils and reporting on pupil's achievement, progress and development.

The role is for 27.5 hours per week within the Year 5 class. Experience within KS2 would be advantageous.

The right candidate will be able to:

• Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
• Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
• Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
• Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance
• Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement

The class does have some challenging behaviour and you will be expected to work within an established discipline policy to anticipate and manage behaviour in a constructive way.
