Sports Coach

Date posted : 29/05/18
£54 - £85 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We are working closely with a new academy in Weston Super Mare that is looking for sports coaches to lead PE throughout the school. The real difference here to any other PE role is that you DON'T need QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). That doesn't mean the school wants just someone who is interested in PE, they want a specialist! So maybe you have a sport or nutrition degree or you have sports coaching or management qualifications. If so, you are the candidate the school is looking for.

You have the flexibility here as the school would take on a longer-term, full-time role, however, if you want something more flexible, you can be on their books so to speak for ad hoc cover.

Your main duties will be leading PE and supporting students during PE across a range of subjects. SO having experience coaching teams of children would be perfect for this!

The School

Many years ago this school was known as the toughest school in Weston Super Mare but since the whole school has be rebuilt and a Multi Academy Trust has stepped in it has quickly turned around. With an open plan school where ever the staff room has no doors, it has fostered a culture of transparency without. I was so surprised walking through the school, how open it was as how studious the students were - it really works!

Ideally this would suit someone local but it is commutable by bus - the X1 or X2 or by train.

What's in it for you?

  • If you are considering a career in PE, what better way to get experience?
  • No QTS or PGCE needed. Just good qualifications in a Sport or PE subject
  • Flexible working!
  • Working in a larger academy chain means there are more opportunities to progress

If this interests you, please get in touch immediately! I look forward to hearing from you.
