Special Needs Teaching Assistant

I am currently recruiting for a number of schools in Scarborough, to support students with an EHCP for Special Needs. The Specialist Schools provide an environment that enables students to perform at their best, both academically and personally.

Requirements of the individual

• Be confident and and approachable
• Be sympathetic and responsive to any personal issues / problems affecting individuals, in both large and small group situations
• Show initiative and work independently
• Have good communication skills; written and verbally

Job specific requirements

• Engage young people into learning based activities
• Manage behaviour inline with School policies, avoiding trigger words and behaviours specific to each pupil
• To work 1:1 and with small groups of pupils across all Key Stages
• Complete the required pupil assessment
• Any other duties as requested by the Class Teacher or the Head Teacher

Teaching Personnel can offer work for Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Learning Support Assistants, Intervention Tutors and Graduates to complement the hours of work during term time only in Schools.
